Prior to Covid-19, I was often invited to give a lecture or to do some counselling training abroad. This happened on a more or less regular basis, and I have been fortunate to travel to many different countries and meet lots of colleagues working in very different cultural and legal settings than I do in Germany. These days, as we are all used to communicating via Zoom, Webex etc, traveling is not necessary anymore, and providing training has become much more cost-efficient. In February, I was delighted to be able to offer a training for Japanese psychologists and counsellors. I carried out a 4-module training session, focussing on aspects important in 3rd party reproduction – and the participants as well as myself enjoyed it very much. We had no technical issues, the time difference was acceptable to all of us and a lot of money was saved as I needed neither flights nor a hotel.
The next training will be in Argentina, in June this year. Again, we will use the internet and I am looking forward to meeting colleagues from another continent!
