In this presentation, I will draw on research and practice knowledge together with informal sources of information from those directly affected to consider some of the psychosocial and professional support challenges and opportunities associated with the release of donor information. The talk will focus in particular on the UK context where donor information has been collected on a statutory central register since 1991 and where a government-funded voluntary register has operated since 2004.
